The whole idea of our website here at Crate Engine dot co was hatched a few years back over a couple of “quiet drinks” on a Friday afternoon. We were listening to a mate explain how much trouble he had sourcing a crate motor for his recently finished 1965 Ford Mustang. A light globe went off in my head and the end result is what you see before you… Crate Engine dot co. engine for my 1967 XR Ford Falcon that I was building
at the time. Long story short, I thought it would be a great resource to simply type in what specs you were looking for in a Crate Engine and then magically have a list of engines from different crate engine builders appear in front of you.
Well many years later and here we are! Crate Engine dot co is born.
Our mission is to simply connect crate engine manufacturers and builders with their potential customers and in doing so create a knowledgeable community of like minded street machine enthusiasts.
We can honestly say that our site is the worlds first and only engine directory website dedicated for crate motor manufacturers to advertise their high performance crate motors in the one easy to use and operate location. One of our main objectives was also to keep advertising costs to a minimum which we have definitely achieved. Remember our aim is to connect crate engine builders with crate engine buyers.

Our website, Crate Engine, was an idea that was hatched over a couple of “quiet drinks” one Friday afternoon. While standing around a recently finished 1965 Ford Mustang with a recently fitted, healthy 351 crate engine, the owner was telling us all about the issues he had sourcing the engine. A light globe then went off and thought it would be a great idea to put together a common place where engine builders could easily advertise their high performance engines so customers could just as easily find them. The end result is what you see before you. I will admit I had the same problems when I was building my 1967 Ford Falcon. We have attempted to make Crate Engine dot co as easy to use as possible. All you have to do is select what type of crate engine or high performance engine you are after and then press search. Simple as that! Our site was also made with engine manufacturers in mind so they are able to advertise their high performance engines as effectively as possible. When a high performance engine builder lists their engines with us, they also get access to our extensive Social Media profiles as well.
